Asymmetric Warfare - Natural Law

This is Asymmetric Warfare's new EP.  It's got 4 thrashing punk songs on it, so if you're a fan of the fast and loud shit, check it out!  They're local here in Seattle and play all the time, so check the Myspace for info on shows.  Enjoy!

Beach House - Teen Dream

Beach House's most recent album, released on Sub Pop.  Easy to listen to.

Sonny and the Sunsets - Tomorrow is Alright

While we're on the subject of Best Coast, this is the band they're touring with.

Best Coast - Sun Was High (So Was I) 7"

I love Best Coast.  They play really simple, kinda garage-y, kinda surf-y, pop.  Their songs sound like the Shangri-Las through a fuzz pedal.
This EP was released on Art Fag Records.  Their debut album came out on Mexican Summer records a few months ago, and I think it was really popular.  People sure were talking about it.  Anywhoo, I like this music.

The Olivia Tremor Control - Music from the Unrealized Film Script, Dusk at Cubist Castle

This was one of the Elephant 6 bands from the 90s.  It's really awesome indie rock with weird psychedelic stuff goin' on.

The guy from Neutral Milk Hotel used to be in the band.  Now are you interested?

Grails - Black Tar Prophecies Vol. 1, 2 & 3

Get a pillow to sit on, and enjoy Grails.

Naam - Naam

I think this album is called Naam.  I don't know.  This is a super heavy psychedelic band from Brooklyn.  Alex got drunk a while ago and insisted that I borrow the record, and it fucking rules!  These guys seem like they smoke lots of weed and probably do too much acid, and they're probably hipsters, but whatever. Parts of it remind me a lot of Sleep.  If you like the slow, psychedelic thing, give this album a listen!  P.S. The vinyl is sweet!  Buy it.

Tom Waits - Rain Dogs

Ok honestly, this is for people who don't think they are Tom Waits fans.  I promise you, just listen to this album all the way through.  The songs are short.  At some point, you will hear one song that you can't get enough of.  Then you'll listen to it on repeat.  Then you'll start to really like the one after it.  And then you'll get really into the one after that.  Next thing you know, you'll be alone in your room, washing muscle relaxants down with shots of whiskey, and you will be a Tom Waits fan.

The Dutchess and the Duke - She's the Dutchess, He's the Duke

This is the first album from The Dutchess and the Duke.  They're Seattle locals, but it seems like they tour like crazy (or did at one point).  Anyways, this album is super folky and raw, and a lot less depressing than their new one.  Maybe that's a good thing, but maybe not.  I dunno. Check it out and go see them live if you live in Seattle.

The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground

Duh.

The Black Angels - Passover

Holy shit, I love this band.  I think this is their first full-length album, and it rules.  If you're a fan of sorta dark, psychedelic rock, LISTEN TO THIS.  All of their other albums are awesome, but this one is definitely my favorite.

My blog!

So, I want this to be a place where I can post albums as I get into them... In case anyone cares, or is bored and wants to find some new shit to listen to.  I don't really know where to begin, so I'm just gonna post a bunch of random favorite albums.  Eventually it might get more interesting.  Or I'll forget the password and never post anything again!

T. Rex - Electric Warrior

All I really have to say is that if you don't already have this album, git it.

The Jesus and Mary Chain - Psychocandy

Debut full length album from The Jesus and Mary Chain.
Super noisy, shoe-gaze-y, poppy.
